Arun Construction Services Ltd is delighted to announce that G59 and energisation was successfully achieved at the Westhampnett Solar Farm and battery storage project on behalf of West Sussex County Council! This complex project combines 7.4MW of solar with a 4.4MW/4.06MWh of battery storage on a closed 35 acre landfill site owned by West Sussex County Council. It is the UK’s second subsidy-free solar farm, and the first by a local authority using battery storage. Arun Construction Services Ltd were the EPC for the project and wish to thank all their partners for their expertise and patience throughout this contract.
We have finally come to the end of a 6 roof pipe line for Lidl superstores across the UK and Ireland . We have installed the system on behalf of BayWa Renewable Energy.
A different playing field is ahead without government ROC subsidies for solar ground mounts, however we are very excited to be involved in a potential subside free solar and battery storage combination project. More to follow on this in the very near future!
31st March 2017 saw the final rush to the finishing post for ground mount projects before the ROC deadline. We built four separate solar farms totalling 20 MW in the first three months of 2017. Some projects didn’t start until mid-January and had extremely tight programmes for procurement and installation. With hard work and commitment all sites were connected before the deadline. Works on these sites carried on into early May with final snagging and clean up.
